These are unusual times that we are in right now. It is almost like a dream, a bad dream.
As the year started, Many people had plans for spring break, graduations, vacations and many of those spring social events that we all like to attend. As many artist ,who are festival artists, we submitted our artwork to be juried into a local or regional festival show. Many of which has to be done several months in advance. This being said, as artists, we have to pay in advance for booth space at these events.
Then the unthinkable happens. COVID-19. Then shows start to cancel, or postpone, Many show promotors aren't offering refunds to the artists. I was lucky that the shows I was going to be in were postponed and I had the option to still be in the shows or get a refund. As a member of the artist community and a small business person, this can be devastating. The art community is a strong community that supports one another and we will all ,hopefully will get through this.
So we adjust. Now I am using this extra time to create new artwork for upcoming shows in the Fall. Maybe late summer. One day at a time. I seem to be putting a bit of Hope, Love and Grace into the Assembelage that I've been making in hopes that they can inspire and heal in some way.
Just remember we are all in this together. We must support one another. Shop local, support your favorite small restaurants , be kind to each other. If your are interested in any of my pieces of art, I am offering 25% off on any of my artwork for the rest of April plus free shipping. Just email me and we can work out the details.
I'm hoping that this blows over soon and we can all get back to normal. I am also praying that all your loved ones are well and
safe.
